Hey Sasers,
Staying in Houston this Spring Break? SASE will be helping Casa de Esperanza with their playdate for foster kids ages 2-6. These children come from unfortunate situations such as neglect and abuse, but Casa de Esperanza and its volunteers give them the love they deserve. This is our first time working with the organization and we’d love for y’all to be part of the experience. Hope to see y’all there!

Houston Food Bank

We’re happy to announce our first volunteering event of the semester! We’ll be helping the Houston Food Bank package food items next Friday, February the 14th aka Valentine’s Day! So in that spirit, come out and spread the love by giving back to the community! Science Extravaganza

Science Extravaganza Encourages High Schoolers To Continue Education.

Science ExtravaganzaSM (SE) is a nationwide program focused on promoting STEM fields. It is a one day event with hands-on STEM workshops given by volunteer professionals in related fields.

In preparation for each Science Extravaganza, the committees consisting of volunteers visit schools and demonstrate workshops to expose students to the science, technology, engineering, and mathematical fields.

We will be hosting a workshop where we provide STEM challenges for middle and highschoolers.

When: Friday, November 8th, 2019

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Vietnamese Culture Festival!

Hey Guys!

Our next volunteering event will be at the Vietnamese Culture Festival! The Festival is an all day event packed with cultural entertainment, traditional games, and delicious Vietnamese food.

We will be building decor pieces and helping with all the programs such as the pho eating and lantern building contest.

If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Date September 28th (Saturday)

Time: 4pm – 7pm

Volunteer Tasks:

4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. :

Ticketing and Check-In: Work with ticketing team to receive tickets, issue wristbands, check-in vendors
Security: Help to monitor the festival grounds for disruptive, suspicious activity. Maintain order during festival.
Program: Assist with the program team to execute the events taking place throughout the festival including: Lantern Contest, Traditional Dress Contest, Pageant, Pho Eating Contest, Co Tuong Tournament, etc.
Traditional Games Station: Work with games team to run the traditional games area.
Vendor Support: Assist the vendors with logistics related to their booth

6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. :

Move-Out and Breakdown: Help with break down and move out of festival items from festival grounds and stages
